Built Right Books was founded on a simple idea: contractors deserve a bookkeeper who actually understands their business.

I'm a bookkeeper and accountant with 12 years of experience — including 6 years as the sole accountant for a mid-sized electrical contractor. I've lived the messy reality of construction accounting. I've coded thousands of job expenses, wrestled with WIP schedules, tracked down subcontractor paperwork, and helped owners understand their numbers in plain English.

When I started Built Right Books, I wasn't interested in being a generalist. Contractors are underserved by bookkeepers who don't understand their industry — and that costs them real money. Misclassified job costs, inaccurate project reporting, and books that are always three months behind aren't just annoying. They make it impossible to know if your business is actually profitable.

I also hold a notary commission, which means I can help with document notarization needs — a convenient perk for contractors who deal with contracts, lien waivers, and loan paperwork.
